The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem district commemorated the memory of Comrade Ghassan Kanafani, the PFLP leader and Palestinian writer killed by the Israeli Mossad in Beirut with a march. The march marked the 40th anniversary, of the July 8 1972 assassination of Comrade Kanafani, the pen of the Front and the nation. Over 70 participated in the military march in Dheisheh, where they marched through the streets and alleys of the camp, raising Palestinian flags and PFLP red banners.
The march was led by a sound car playing songs of the PFLP and slogans saluting the resistance and our brave comrades in the prisons of the Zionist occupation, calling for national unity, and the liberation of all of Palestine. The marchers carried images of Comrade Kanafani, pledging to carry on in his path.
